How Carbon Facial Works

The Carbon Laser Facial is performed in two stages to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin.

The first stage involves applying a thin layer of medical-grade carbon to the skin. The carbon acts like a magnet, attracting oil, dead skin cells and impurities from within the pores. A laser is then passed over the skin, gently heating the carbon and stimulating the skin's natural renewal processes, including collagen production.

During the second stage, the laser is used to target and remove the carbon particles from the skin. As the carbon is broken down, it takes with it excess oil, debris and dead skin cells from the skin's surface. This process helps to deeply cleanse the pores, improve skin clarity, refine texture and leave the complexion looking brighter, smoother and more refreshed.

Things to know about Carbon Laser Facial

Before

Avoid overexposure of the sun and tanning beds.
Don’t shave or wax the areas being treated.
Avoid using any products such as retinoids or exfoliants, as this can increase the skins sensitivity.

During

The Carbon Facial procedure is virtually painless, however some may experience a slight tingling sensation to the areas being targeted.

After

You may experience slight swelling, tingling, or redness in the treated area.

Don’t worry, these effects will naturally subside within a few hours.

Straight after the treatment, your skin may have some redness, which will subside within 24 hours.
Avoid wearing any make-up for at least 24 hours, as this can clog pores and hinder the healing process.
Avoid using any harsh exfoliants or peels for at least 72 hours after carbon laser treatment.
Keep your skin hydrated to encourage healing by applying non-comedogenic moisturisers (avoiding oil-based skincare) and drink plenty of water.
Avoid sun exposure.
